A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

In th early part  of the 21st  century the state woke up to establish quite a good number of colleges to afford expanded educational opportunities to the rising youth populace of the state on par with the national average. The local people realized the deficit of an institution for higher study for which the vulnerable section of the local community is deprived of higher education. Specifically the girl child and SC/ST/OBC/ minority students unable to afford the cost of higher education . But they can pursue a higher and qualitative goal at a lower economic cost at their door steps if the deficit is made up with a College.

The dream got a shape at the hands of the local elites like Sri Ram Chandra Nayak ,Sri A .Sahadeb Patro ,Sri Satay narayan Padhy , Miss Sachala Karjee ,Sri Sataya Narayan Badamundi ,Sri Kora Pradhan , Sri Banamali Sabar, Sri Kusan Raita , Sri Achuta Raita and Shyama Sundar Ratha  and the then Local MP and MP and the local elites joined hands with them  and Sri   Rama Chandra Nayak who  acted as the first President of Governing Body, with the active cooperation of the generous people of the locality. This college initially started in the  Yovak Sanghahouse of  T . R Colony  building.

The college started with an intake capacity of 128 seats in +3 Arts  from the session 2015-2016 and is  affiliated to Berhampur University.

At the beginning, the College started with 05Lecturers in  Arts  streams with four  Non-teaching staff members. The academic affairs of the college was vested in the hands of Principals in-charge Sri Arjun Mandal  upto  September 2016 and there after  Sri Purna Chandra Dalai took the  principal of the college to  till date .
